The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mulligans Chopped Hog bar at 1810 George Dieter Drive. Police said one of the groups was told to leave the bar, which then prompted an argument and a fight between the two gangs.

While the fight was going on, the suspected shooter walked into the bar and began shooting at members of the rival gang, police said. Javier Gonzalez, 34, (link is external) was arrested in connection with the shooting on Wednesday in San Elizario.

Police said Gonzalez is a member of the Kinfolk Outlaw Motorcycle Gang. Martinez was arrested last year (link is external)after a fight broke out outside of a business at 2281 N. Zaragoza road.
In that fight, Martinez who was described by police as the Bandidos Motorcycle Club president, along with the motorcycle club’s sergeant at arms James Heredia and secretary Thomas Decarlos , were accused of attacking another group with clubs and bats.
